Hydrographic

Hydrographic survey is the science of measurement and description of features which affect maritime navigation, marine construction, dredging, offshore oil exploration/drilling and related disciplines. Strong emphasis is placed on soundings, shorelines, tides, currents, sea floor and submerged obstructions that relate to the previously mentioned activities. The term Hydrography is sometimes used synonymously to describe Maritime Cartography, which in the final stages of the hydrographic process uses the raw data collected through hydrographic survey into information usable by the end user.

The CEETIDE™ is a simple to install, extremely low maintenance and easy to operate radar tide gauge recorder. It has all the necessary features to accurately monitor tidal movements in a compact system.

The CEETIDE™ radar tide gauge recorder is made up of components that are designed and manufactured to withstand hash marine environments. These components are then encased in a virtually indestructible Pelican™ case.

One of the main features of the CEETIDE™ system is that it does not have any moving parts or sensors submerged in water. This greatly reduces the amount of maintenance required to maintain an accurate tide gauge installation. The probe can be discreetly mounted to prevent theft or vandalism.

The CEETIDE™ can either be permanently installed for port operations or can be used as a portable tide recorder requiring minimal setup.

image SES-2000 Compact
Share

The system SES-2000 compact is based on the SES-96 product line, which is the first mobile parametric sediment echo sounder on the international market.

This system variant has a size of one half of a 19" device only. It is therefore very compact, light weight and usable even on the smallest vessel. Controlled via an USB interface with any external PC or Notebook running MS Windows it is a user friendly design too. It has not all features of the SES product line, but nevertheless it uses the same advanced technique of parametric acoustics and the user can benefit from all the known advantages, like small beam width, high resolution combined with deep penetration and accurate bathymetry measurements. The compact design without integrated industrial PC components results in a very affordable and reliable instrument for sub-bottom profiling applications.

image SES-2000 Side Scan Option
Share

The Side Scan Option for the SES systems is a very useful tool for applications which require different survey techniques to get as most as possible information and not only sub-bottom data. For example the dredging industry can benefit from surveying an area with the side scan very quickly to find rock outcrops or stones and obstacles and later on to survey the area with the sub-bottom profiler to get data about embedded structures and sediment layering. Also archaeological surveys, pipeline tracking surveys, preinvestigation surveys of construction sites (e.g. wind parks) or the classification of the seabed are common applications for such a side scan instrument.

The SES transducer is replaceable with the parametric transducer very quickly and the same system configuration can be used to survey the area of interest. The side scan works with the frequency of 100kHz. The same user friendly operating software is used to control the side scan, to record, process and print the data.

The SES systems are upgraded with the transducer and a software update, which makes the side scan option very affordable. Only one third of the costs for a complete new side scan sonar system is required.
